Among the Horses

Common Starling [stare]

We don't often get to see starling murmurations here, and this isn't even close. But for me, this is one of the best signs of spring there is: they have returned! Mollön nature reserve, Uddevalla, on March 22, 2019.

Common Starling [stare]

Look at the colours! I've actually never seen starlings here before. These must be migrating, taking a short break after crossing the sea. Haby bukt, Ramsvikslandet nature reserve, on March 25, 2018.

Common Starling [stare]

From the archive: This is such a good spot for welcoming the starlings back in spring. Mollön, Uddevalla, on March 19, 2015.

Common Gull [fiskmås]

What you see is not always what you get. I saw seven cattle, idyllically chewing by the creek. The camera saw a gull, and what I believe is a young starling. Tun, Lidköping, on July 3, 2015.
