Eurasian Tree Sparrow [pilfink]

Most of the time, I see these around outdoor restaurants, hoping for leftovers. But not today, this one (one in a group] searched the shrubs for food. Naturum Hornborgasjön, Broddetorp, on April 24, 2020.

Eurasian Coot [sothöna]

Cute, but a true bully among other birds. This coot behaved well, however. Naturum Hornborgasjön, Broddetorp, on April 24, 2020.

Pentax K50, ISO 100, 300mm, f/8, 1/400.

Black-Headed Gull [skrattmås]

This spring is a strange one, indeed, with fewer occasions for birdwatching than I’m used to. Even a colony of black-headed gulls looks exotic! Naturum Hornborgasjön, Broddetorp, on April 24, 2020.

Pentax K50, ISO 200, 300mm, f/13, 1/500.

Red-Necked Grebe [gråhakedopping]

Not my best photo of a bird, and probably not my worst, but I rarely find these red-necked grebes so I just want to show that ”Look, I found another one!”. Naturum Hornborgasjön, Broddetorp, on April 24, 2020.

Mute Swan [knölsvan]

These mute swans were going way faster than the traffic. Date night at the hotel? Nygårdsängens nature reserve, Vänersborg, on April 19, 2020.

Northern Lapwing [tofsvipa]

One of the most elegant birds – the lapwing. Nygårdsängens nature reserve, Vänersborg, on April 19, 2020.

Pentax K50, ISO 200, 300mm, f/7.1, 1/800.

Greylag Goose [grågås]

We haven’t had the opportunity to birdwatch much this spring, but today we spent some time with the greylags. Nygårdsängens nature reserve, Vänersborg, on April 19, 2020.
