Mallard [gräsand]

As we were nearby anyway, we decided to have a quick stop at Hornborgasjön even though it's not birdwatching season. Thanks to the heatwave and draught there is almost no water in the lake, which of course has affected the breeding. These mallards seem to be ok, though. Hornborgasjön on August 2, 2018.

Of course, no garden of this size is complete without some peacocks. This one was resting in one of the beds close to the main entrance.
