White-Throated Dipper [strömstare]

Today was a lucky day, indeed! Camera and a pair of white-throated dippers at relatively close range – in decent enough light! Pics from A. Bäveån (Fossum), Uddevalla, on February 28, 2018.

Hooded Crow [kråka]

One playing in the snow, the other with its beak full of apple. I'm quite fond of these two. Hedegärde, Uddevalla, on February 24, 2018.

Fieldfare [björktrast]

We have decided this is a resident fieldfare now. An apple a day seems to keep it happy. Hedegärde, Uddevalla, on February 24, 2018.

European Blue Tit [blåmes]

It's getting warmer (slightly), and time to find yourself the best nesting box in the neighbourhood. Is this it? Älje Porsen nature reserve, Uddevalla, on February 24, 2018.

Goosander [storskrake]

A calm – and foggy – day by the sea with some sun breaking through just as this goosander was in sight. But look at the mute swan on the reef! Sandö, Kungshamn, on February 17, 2018.

Fieldfare [björktrast]

At least one fieldfare are visiting our feeding station this winter, going for the apples. Hedegärde, Uddevalla, on February 9, 2018.

Common Blackbird [koltrast]

Where there are apples, there are blackbirds. Most of them eat the apple as if from a bowl – the half one here has been eaten on by a fieldfare. Hedegärde, Uddevalla, on February 9, 2018.

European Blue Tit [blåmes]

They're all over, really. Tiny but cute. Hedegärde, Uddevalla, on February 6, 2018.

Common Redpoll [gråsiska]

The common redpolls are still regular guests at our feeding station. Most of them pick seeds on the ground, but some of them have a more bold approach and take up residens in the feeder … What can I say – I love them! Pics from A. Hedegärde, Uddevalla, on February 6, 2018.

Marsh Tit [entita]

One of the best things of providing a variety of food at one's feeding station, is that on cold days like this, you get visits from a variety of birds. The marsh tits want sunflower seeds, the blackbirds go for the apples, while the great tits can do almost anything for a peanut. Hedegärde, Uddevalla, on February 6, 2017.

Eurasian Nuthatch [nötväcka]

The temperature is some –10° (Celsius), and these are busy days at our feeding station. But as soon as we go outside with our camera and not a refill of peanuts or lard, all birds take to the treetops … Except, today, for one nuthatch. Hedegärde, Uddevalla, on Monday 05, 2018.
